Privacy Policy for Essentium

Effective Date: June 19, 2026

Launcher Essentium ("the App") is developed by Fondor Labs ("we", "us", or "our"). Your privacy is deeply important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our application functions regarding user data.

Summary: Zero Data Collection

  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, harvest, or store any personal information.
  • No Server Logging: No data from your device is ever transmitted or logged to our servers.
  • No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or distribute any user data to third-party applications, analytics services, or advertising networks.

Explanation of Device Permissions

Launcher Essentium requests certain permissions in its Android Manifest to function properly as a home screen replacement. All data related to these permissions is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted.

1. Application Management & Core Functionality

  • QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES & PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS: Required to discover, display, and search the apps installed on your device, and to show your frequently used apps in the launcher interface.
  • REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES: Allows you to uninstall apps directly from the launcher interface.
  • PACKAGE_ADDED / REPLACED / REMOVED (Broadcast Receivers): Used to instantly update your app drawer when you install or delete applications.

2. Device Interface & Customization

  • EXPAND_STATUS_BAR: Allows the launcher to open your notification shade via gestures.
  • SET_WALLPAPER: Allows you to change your device's home screen background through the app.
  • VIBRATE: Used to provide haptic feedback during gestures or long-press actions.

3. Location Access (On-Device Only)

  • ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, & ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION: If the launcher utilizes a local weather widget or time-zone clock, these permissions are used solely to fetch relevant local data on your device. This data is never sent to Fondor Labs or any external party.

4. System Services

  • INTERNET: Included for standard system compatibility (e.g., local network queries or potential local web-view instances). No data is exfiltrated or sent to remote servers.
  • BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE: Used exclusively to display notification badges (unread counts) directly on app icons. The launcher does not read, log, or store the content of your notifications.

Data Security

Because Launcher Essentium does not collect, transmit, or store any data over the internet, your information remains fully contained within your physical device's secure sandbox.
